Drafting the Constitution
James Madison is known as the Father of the Constitution. James Madison is also known for being the most helpful in creating the Constitution. He advocated for many different rights, especially including freedom of religion and speech so he made sure that those got into the Bill of Rights. He even co-authored the Federalist Papers (Alexander Hamilton was the other co-author). The Federalist Papers were a long list of essays that were meant to help support the constitution and convince everyone that the constitution would be very beneficial to the United States of America. James Madison approved of the idea of a republic but really wanted a strong central government.
